You’re awesome! You’ve started your Master Gardener coursework, and now you’ve discovered a great place to volunteer, the Enabling Garden. Hooray for you!
Come join our fun group of volunteers on Tuesday nights starting around 5 pm for gardening and fellowship.
Not everyone can make it as early as 5 pm on a week night, so the best chance to meet everyone is around 5:30. Feel free to come ask us if we need any help weeding or watering, and you’ll get a big smile and warm welcome. You can also ask Sandie about assisting on any of the projects listed below.
Projects Currently Needing Help
- Join the kitchen garden team to help with harvesting, weeding, cleaning produce, and delivering to food pantry.
- Adopt a flower bed, and give it special attention this year. You will also have the opportunity to choose which plants you would like the greenhouse to grow for your bed next year.
- Compile a plant list for a garden map. If you are interested in learning plant names and meeting people at the Enabling Garden, do I have a fun job for you! We are putting together a plant list and map of the garden for the website and need help identifying all the unmarked perennials. There are lots of them, so this would be an ongoing project. You would ask the people who adopted each bed for plant identifications.
- Assist at a project booth during the Children’s Art in the Garden programs
