The Little Free Library at the Enabling Garden has a new look this summer. The box is painted sky blue to match the nearby entrance arbor, and the roof has shingles now.
Look for the library in the same place, located adjacent to the bike path in Altoona, IA. You can stop by the garden to exchange a book, or sit and read in the garden. Anyone can pick up a book, and bring a book to share!
Our sponsors, Maya Stein & Amy Tingle from Type Rider II, stopped at our garden for the library’s dedication on June 17th, 2014 . We are so thrilled they added our garden to their Tandem Poetry Tour.
During their visit, Mary and Amy wrote spontaneous poetry for us on their typewriters. They also shared stories of their 1,000 mile biking and typing adventure across the Midwest.
Have you ever seen a Tiny Traveling Library? Fans of the Tandem Poetry tour wrote and submitted hundreds of tiny “how to” books for their tiny library. Titles like “how to be lazy” and “how to sneak candy” gave us all a chuckle. How clever!
